Cody began playing when he was eight years old, and began competing in AJGA and IJGT junior golf tournaments, eventually representing Maryland in the Capital Cup. His proficiency in junior golf landed him a full-ride scholarship to up and coming Division 1 school NC A&T. While in school, Cody found a love for teaching golf, by helping with various junior programs including the First Tee of Greensboro. In his instruction, Cody relies on the lesson he learned while playing high-level competitive golf, and pairs this with factual data to help his students reach their potential.
