🏌️‍♂️ A heel shank in golf can be detrimental to your game and confidence, so it's important to avoid it.

🎯 To fix heel shanks, practice hitting the toe more often and use tools like a noodle or a tee for feedback.

00:00:00 - not sending the tea down the range which gives you the feedback that you might have just not necessarily done this drill [Music] appropriately hello everyone let's go ahead and stop shanking the ball that's a bad word we don't like that word at all uh so let's first Define the shank what would that be let me see your Club real fact see thank you um so a shank is anytime that you have really two sides of it the toe Shake or the heel shank you have to first determine which one you're doing the one

00:00:34 - that I don't like at all the toe is okay because at least it's flat so if you do hit the toe you're just you're missing part of the grooves which is which is just fine but if you hit the heel shank that thing is rounded and that can go really anywhere and that's going to be detrimental to not only your round of golf but probably the confidence of getting out there again so uh we want to make sure we stay away from this one as much as we can so I'm going to talk more

00:00:56 - about the heel shank so you're going to imagine you're my student so you have the shanks right no I hope I hope not but overall uh how to fix those really fast is we have to just impose more of a toe influence so hitting the toe more often and you can do that simply just at the range use a noodle use a head cover and just give yourself just enough room to be able to hit the center of the face and the toe but also some feedback if you do say hit anything with the heel so what I like to do is

00:01:25 - just put this um noodle kind of give yourself and if you can go ahead and scoot up to the ball right here so anytime that you're going to be coming in any close to the heel this would still be an okay strike but you're going to get uh some feedback from the noodle if you don't have one of these or a head cover that is just fine hey let's go ahead and utilize a tea so if I put a t right there now go ahead and hit this shot but avoid the te and I don't need a big swing from you okay we're going to

00:01:53 - start off something just very short kind of waist high okay okay nicely done I did clip the tea there a little a little bit but not sending the tea down the range which gives you the feedback that you might have just not necessarily done this drill appropriately okay so what to influence obviously you're just working strictly on contact but the handle needs to be closer to you at some point just to make sure you're avoiding the heel Shanks so if you really still are

00:02:21 - running into those Shanks and you really can't figure out why go find a golf tech center near you talk to a coach and figure out why you're having those problems oh [Music]
