00:00:05 - all right guys we're talking about the best irons 4 mid handicappers in 2025 and some of these launched in the fall of 24 we got a few new ones in the mix as well and really we're looking at irons that are a little more mid to slightly smaller in profile some of them might start creeping into kind of that player distance category but we've got a couple different options for everybody uh so let's get right into it we're going to start off Nick here with the Apex AI 200 so uh we got a forged face

00:00:33 - hollow body construction though and then really the cup face design as well too where really the face wraps a little bit over the body that just helps with some ball speeds across the face but then they've also got the urethane microspheres in that guy and really what that is is just the polymer material that they inject them with so you get a very U one piece feel out of that hollow body construction but initial thoughts what do you think uh real clean look uh

00:01:00 - a little bit more on that Top Line than uh some of the other clubs probably will have but uh overall really nice shape the blade and everything still like it so say a pretty short profile Heel To Toe but thicker in the uh Top Line and the sole so there's some forgiveness in there and yeah definitely a little thicker look than you know probably what you're used to having in the bag definitely instill some confidence though yeah

00:01:27 - absolutely and again these are overall going to be smaller profiled irons in general you know it's not a blade by any means but it's not going to be the max offset um you know really thick Soul really thick Top Line like we see out of your your max forgiveness category uh but and obviously that one went a little bit left on you uh strike sound it's all yeah sounded pretty good felt pretty good oh yeah we got left and right covered with that guy yeah little army golf

00:01:57 - there we're not going to have the Forgiveness on that one that we saw out of uh out of the last one we did still pretty forgiving though neither one of those were my best swings and ball still went pretty far and relatively straight so yeah let's move on to the next one then so that was the AI 200 from Callaway next one we're going to move into uh we be one that launched not too long ago and that's going to be from Cobra and this is the king Tech X so they've got the king Tech and then the x

00:02:23 - is just the slightly thicker Sole and a little thicker Top Line of the two so again falling more into that mid handicap category they've got 70 G of tungsten up to in these in these irons and then with their power shell basically some of the internals on the sole side helping with maintenance of ball speed and forgiveness and then injected through the tow Port here they do a polymer foam uh insert again similar story like they all do basically just trying to make this one piece iron

00:02:53 - uh feel actually me two- piece iron feel like a one piece yeah looks uh looks sleek from the from the back definitely can see some some of the wider pieces to it like you mentioned but definitely be probably the thickest sole of the bunch that we hit and um wide sole not much of a grind to it's a pretty flat as far as uh from you know lead to Trail Edge M yeah still looks pretty

00:03:19 - good sounded pretty solid so you've got again a oh going a little bit left on us though so we got a uh pretty sharp Leading Edge I would say for the category so it should be pretty easy to cut through some of the heavy stuff uh if you find yourself there but then with a thick sole if you do catch it a little bit heavy there'll be a level of forgiveness in there to where it won't want to dig [Music] excessively that solid as well there we go nice one still goes a long way both those

00:03:50 - were uh a little more draw than I'd like to play but right in the center of the face and both felt really nice so definitely felt nice coming off the face let's go to number three and really not uh introducing these in in a level of say forgiveness or anything like that trying to go close to launch order next one though is going to be always a popular one in ardors and that is the jpx 925 hot metal pro uh so they introduced this one a couple Generations ago with the hot metal um which

00:04:17 - basically is the hot metal technology but in a fairly small package so it's got um you know a thicker Soul relative to say the forged or in years past the tour um but not much offset and again for the category a thinner Top Line and like the rest of them core technology in the face core tech technology excuse me uh basically just the internal Milling helping to increase ball speeds on those off-center shots yeah a little little smaller Top Line there m uh about the

00:05:33 - that is going to be one that did just hit the shelves that's going to be from Callaway so coming back to C now in their Elite line so we had the Apex earlier now we're going into the standard Elite and they've got four models in this line the elite the HL the max fast and the X we are just talking Elite and uh in this line it will be the smallest of the bunch so thin is so least amount of offset they do have their triple cut sole in this particular model so some relief on the trailing and
