00:00:17 Typically with my students, we focus on understanding our strengths, determining the length of the hole, playing the hole backwards, knowing distance with a driver, and avoiding hazards like bunkers by starting the ball left in order to kick back into the fairway.
00:01:02 When making an elevated shot from 130 yards away with a ball below your feet and bunkers in front, be confident in your club choice and aim slightly left to counteract

00:00:00 hey guys we are on a 326 yard par4 and I'm here with Tommy who's a golf tech coach he's going to walk me through some strategy and hopefully help me play a little better than I would without him
00:00:17 yeah so typically with my students what we're looking to do is to understand what our strengths are first and foremost and we want to know how long the hole is okay so what we like to do with our students is play the hole backwards um understanding your strengths and how far you hit your driver so we can understand what that second shot that second approach shot is going to be okay so yeah my driver I might carry 190 okay um and then I also want to cater uh understand where the
00:00:42 bunker is too so I have a slice okay we can start our ball left on this mountain side over here and more than likely it'll kick off back into the fairway as long as it's not off to the right it should be good okay awesome
00:01:02 money great ball let's go all right so we're sitting out here in the fairway great shot thank you thank you got 126 yards to the flag stick okay so just four more yards okay so we're at have an elevated shot uh it's 130 yards to the flag stick so I asked you to bring out two clubs one that you're confident that you're going to get it there and one maybe it's the yardage but I don't hit it that well all the time yeah okay so when you make practice swings I want you
00:01:31 to pick a club and have confidence in it before you swing okay okay the other element to this shot is that we have a lot of bunkers in front of us but at the same time the ball's a little bit below your feet okay the ball wants to shoot out a little right when that happens okay don't have much slope to deal with but at that same time if we cater a little left it should eliminate some of that tail out to the right
00:01:57 okay definitely a little straighter you'll enjoy that sweet okay we're over here on the right and we're trying to putt to our left down the hill a little bit so what we need to do is really understand um how far or how hard we want to hit it and the direction that we want to start it in okay okay you're on the spine almost okay so we got to be careful with our speed we cannot go down this way okay okay so I'd cater maybe a little bit maybe about two cups to the left
00:02:39 it's going to funnel okay trust that line nice nice good job sweet
