How to Practice using OPTIMOTION in a GOLFTEC Bay

Description

Deep dive into your swing using OPTIMOTION! Recently unlocked for use in GOLFTEC bays, you can now take your golf practice to the next level. Improve your swing using data-driven feedback to play better golf, faster.

00:00:00 The practising bay in Golf Tech has optimotion technology that captures all shoulder and hip movements with 15 points of data using two cameras.

00:01:00 The default camera setting will provide motion measurement numbers during practice sessions, with red, yellow, green, and blue colors indicating positions in the swing that can help identify swing issues.

00:02:07 [The goal is to achieve a green tour average form by focusing on specific motions like hip turn at 4° open, which will help improve your swing using 3D motion tracking technology.]

00:03:02 Customize your practice to enhance your golf game by utilizing the button box to record and measure your swing with optimotion and cameras.

00:04:04 The text discusses how to access assigned homework from your coach after a lesson and how to interpret the instructions given.

00:05:08 Remember, the key number of the shoulder press exercise will now be shown on the screen instead of all numbers, grab your seven iron for an example.

00:05:47 The system processes your video of your golf swing and assigns a color based on the position of the left arm, ideally aiming for green which indicates a more closed downswing, and this data can be used to track progress during practice sessions.

00:06:44 The test will show continuous updates when hitting a second shot to ensure proper swing technique.

00:07:30 The tool tracks the percentages of shots based on color and gives a visual representation, so keep up the good work and continue utilizing Optimotion in your practice.

📈 The system tracks progress over time, allowing golfers to see improvements and areas needing more focus.

📝 Coaches can assign homework through the system, providing specific feedback and practice goals for students.

00:00:00 yeah so you'll see all eight of those motion measurement numbers on top of there for every single practice unless your coach me actually gives you some homework [Music] okay hello Golf Tech students we have optimotion in our practice if you have not been in a hitting Bay in a long time you're going to recognize eight numbers on the top of the screen they're not going to be live yet until you hit a ball so um we're going to give a demonstration of that here shortly but

00:00:34 you're going to have all shoulder and hip motions available to you all so that means turn tilt Bend sway all those motions are going to be available to you while you're hitting so some really cool things I mean optimotion picks up the joints in your body uh with our two cameras right here the front and side camera and really goes into 15 points to just capture all the data and import it into the video that you see here very cool so we might as well just hit and

00:00:59 just kind of show everyone what it's like right sure all right let's go ahead and do so okay oh no don't do it shouldn't have done crap it's an example of what not to do all right so automatically this is the default setting for our cameras so you're going to have all eight of these motion measurement numbers on every single practice unless your coach during a lesson specifies otherwise but if you're just coming in for a practice and you don't have lessons then you're going

00:01:34 to see this screen okay you don't have to do anything to prompt this but to get the video you have to hit a ball yeah right that'll really prompt the cameras to record your swing here so once you do hit a ball though it'll give you all of these numbers now in according colors you're going to have actually nine times in your swing uh there's nine positions that these colors are going to display now we have red yellow green and blue so red and yellow is associated with

00:02:03 somebody that is over the top or even swinging straight to the Target kind of some slicing issues and also hitting the ground before the ball okay then you have green green is what we always want to strive for green is good right but green is our tour average form so our tour average form the best players in the world at that moment in time with that motion is performing what you did so an example would say be hip turn at 4° open that is fantastic that is actually one of our tour averages for

00:02:31 your address position and as you continue on within the swing say if we just move forward you're going to notice that those numbers are going to continue to pop up and they're going to make sense so say like Club parallel to the ground or close to it will pop up one more time you're going to see other motions here that you can really focus in on so this is going to help out with not only yourself as my student but anybody that has a practice pass you're going to be

00:02:57 able to measure your swing with 3D motion also we do have all of our buttons over here to draw on your swing squares circles lines squigglies whatever you need just to make sure that you're associating and measuring your swing the way that you need to or the way that your coach told you as well so there's so many different ways to really customize this practice to really enhance your golf game here right now you utilize the button box to go forward backwards play your swing and such but

00:03:29 uh you're going to beu on this screen until you actually tell our system to record a new swing which that number one button right here it says not ready to record so you have to hit the one button to be able to record Another swing and to measure your swing with the optimotion and also with the cameras okay so I'm going to go ahead and do that for you awesome and then we can go ahead and hit one more shot because I don't want you to end on that one yeah no we need we need to end

00:03:57 on a better one yes you do I'm to not do my inter oh

00:04:04 crap that one was nice come on oh that was a good one now again give the the camera some time to really uh take in and calculate all this data here yeah so you'll see all eight of those motion measurement numbers on top of there for every single practice unless your coach me actually gives you some homework okay so let's dive further into that HK homework if I actually set that after a lesson awesome sounds good all right Lexi so I have assigned you homework of course I did

00:04:37 right uh but when your coach does assign you something you're going to get a little prompt on this screen here so you can see that it says your coach has assigned homework when ready press five on the button box to get started so let's go ahead and do that when you click five on the button box you're going to get the coach notes from the previous lesson so the flight patterns observed push fade resolution suggested keeping the turns more closed on the downswing and action for

00:05:06 improvements just noodle on the trail shoulder is what we did so um that just will spark some of your memory as to what you're working on but overall now you're going to see just one of the numbers pulled out onto the screen not all of them anymore okay so let's go ahead and get everybody an example of this so go ahead and grab your seven iron if you can

00:05:33 okay no pressure let's hope for green

00:05:47 numbers if they're not green that's okay too uhoh now it'll take it's processing the video right now so ultimately it's going to take your swing to that position of the Swing so right on the down swing about the left arm being parallel or essentially the the left upper arm here being parallel and it's going to give you a color associated with it right we are hoping for green green would be more closed on the downswing so a number greater than that 55 clothes we were

00:06:18 looking for 65 clothes like we're were talking about in our lesson and then while you practice and you keep hitting shots okay it's going to keep a graph of just how well you've done now that'll be the nice part is that you can come back to me on our next lesson say hey Brian I got pretty much say 53% of them were in the green so that's really good you were doing exactly what we were talking about and it's just a little bit more of a practicing with a purpose instead of

00:06:43 just whacking balls into a net definitely right so this is specifically geared towards what our last lesson was something that benefits your improvement and plus a little bit more specified and not just looking at all the numbers and that's just the benefit of having a coach right there yeah and with this when I'm hitting a second shot will it automatically reset or do I have to press a specific button to do the next shot let's go ahead and test it out okay you're going to see the graph continue

00:07:10 to stay on the live screen here so it just kind of gives you a continuous update and all but uh go ahead and hit another shot it's going to give us kind of the same Cadence again make sure that you're more closed on the down swing let's see if blue or green one

00:07:30 would you look at that draw oh so you only hit one shot 100% on the yellow right now give it a little bit of time just that extra say like 2 seconds just to see where you were 70° closed there's our green value there it'll just keep the tally of shots the percentages where they were color-wise and just kind of give you a nice little visual representation very cool now you might get a bunch of colors up here you're going to have another color that is outside the pie graph as you see that

00:08:01 was your last shot obviously you have the color of the number as well but just another visual representation there cool yeah so again really good keep up the good work right and utilize optimotion in your practice just to keep improving definitely sounds good [Music]
