00:00:00 - If you're a beginner golfer looking to improve quickly, this video offers a simple formula to help you develop your skills fast.
00:00:16 - Most beginners struggle with setting up to the golf ball, so start by ensuring your hands, stance, and club position are correct, ideally with your hips slightly bumped toward the target to help you hit the ball properly.
00:00:59 - Focus on moving the club around your body during the takeaway by turning your shoulders and hips instead of lifting the club, and practice controlled swings from hip to chest level before working on the follow-through.
00:01:45 - Focus on proper setup and finish with hips toward the target, arms extended, and chest up to achieve solid contact and increase speed and distance for beginner swings.
00:02:32 - By trying these tips, beginners can enjoy playing more golf with less struggle and greater fun.
🎯 Beginner golfers should focus on setting up with proper hand and feet placement, ensuring the club handle points toward the belly button for a solid foundation.
🔄 Practicing small swings from hip to hip and moving the club around your body instead of lifting is crucial for building good habits early on.
🏌️♂️ Fully extending your arms and pushing your hips toward the target in the follow through helps create crisp contact and more distance, making golf more enjoyable for beginners.
00:00:00 - If you are a beginner golfer, I've got a quick formula for you to help you get better at golf faster and really start to improve your skills the quickest way. So, if you're beginner, never played golf before, this video is for you.
00:00:16 - All right, the first thing we need to talk about, [music] generally speaking, most beginners have no idea how to set up to the golf ball. So, start there. We'll link a ton of videos that we've made on how to properly set up to the ball. Watch those. That would be a great place to get started. But super high level, what you want to do is make sure your hands are on the club the right way. Make sure your stance and your feet and everything are set up the right
00:00:36 - direction. Make sure the handles pointed [music] closer to like your belly button, not your knees. Those would be some good checkpoints. So when you're taking your address position, again, just make sure your hands are in the right spot, feet are in the right spot. I would even advocate for a [music] beginner, it's probably better for you to bump your hips towards the target just a teeny tiny bit. That's going to make it easier for you to hit the golf ball first and the ground second.
00:00:56 - [music] So that's the first piece. The second thing you need to work on is you need to work on how to move the club in your takeaway. So a lot of beginner golfers lift the golf club when they start back. They don't turn their shoulders. They don't turn their hips. So for you starting out, this is a good habit to get into. Practice moving your hands and your club more around your body instead of up towards the sky. These don't have to be big [music] swings. For a beginner, I would say you
00:01:20 - probably don't even want to do anything past like chest level. Like go from hip high to hip high. That would be a great place to start. Work on moving your hands in and around your body. The last thing you want to work on is what you do in the follow through. Okay. So, once you've mastered the first two pieces, you've got your setup, you're working your hands more in and around your body, you need to focus on how to finish the swing. So, [music] when you're when
00:01:42 - we're talking about that, it's get the hands in the right spot in the takeaway, then make some swings. And when [music] you finish, you should have your hips pushed towards the target. Should have your arms extended out in front of you, the club shaft extended out in front of you, and your chest pointed up towards the sky. These things are going to help you with creating a better strike, [music] and ultimately creating more speed and distance. So, for a lot of
00:02:03 - beginners, again, I'll just kind of walk through this uh step by step. Get your setup first, work on moving your hands and club in and around you, and then [music] work on your finish. So, when I make this swing, can you hear how crisp that contact was? My arms are extended. My hips are forward. My chest is nice and high. That ball is going to go right around 70 80 yards. That would be a great way to start for a beginner of just making some of those small swings
00:02:27 - really focused on getting solid contact so that you can get the ball to go out and forward [music] in front of you. If you can do that, you'll be well on your way to playing much more golf, having a lot more fun, and not struggling as much as some of the people that you play with. So, try those out. If you're a beginner, this is a great way to get started.
